Exhibit (A), Furniture for the Anxious Being, an MFA Thesis exhibition by Tanuvi Hegde
Exhibit (A) invites you into a transformative journey through the world of furniture, where emotional well-being takes center stage. Inspired by the complexities of anxiety—a universal aspect of human nature—this collection offers a vision of what furniture can be when liberated from traditional constraints of function and form. Each interactive, sensory-driven piece embodies a unique expression of comfort and healing, encouraging us to engage with our anxieties in meaningful ways.
With a focus on sensory and therapeutic elements, Exhibit (A) empowers individuals to navigate their everyday stresses, turning furniture into a tool for emotional growth and self-discovery. Born from personal experiences, this collection serves as an invitation to explore the beauty of vulnerability and the power of mindfulness in our daily lives.
Simplicity & Opulence, Inspiration and Direction of New Chinese Style Furniture, and MFA thesis exhibition by Yuanxu Liu
This thesis delves into the design of Chinese furniture, pointing out the common issues in contemporary New Chinese design: Excessive reliance on element stacking, lacking guidance from Chinese philosophy, and struggling to establish a unified style. Through detailed analysis, the thesis aims to provide practical guidelines for designers, breaking limitations, achieving organic integration of Chinese philosophy and modern design, and facilitating the development of New Chinese design style.
